Texas Child Support Calculator

Based on Texas Family Code Chapter 154. Texas uses a percentage-of-income model where only the paying parent's after-tax income determines the support amount. Only the first $11,700/month counts. Earnings above that do not change the guideline (as of September 2025).

Who is the paying parent? In Texas, the court typically designates the non-custodial parent — the parent with fewer overnight stays — as the paying parent. If custody is near-equal, the higher-earning parent usually pays. Not sure? Run the calculator once for each parent to compare.
Before taxes and deductions — wages, self-employment, bonuses, etc.

Children subject to this support order.
Children from other relationships with a legal duty of support. Triggers a multiple-family adjustment (§ 154.129) when greater than 0.
No parenting time credit: Texas does not apply a formula-based parenting time reduction to guideline support. Courts may deviate from guidelines when a strict application would be unjust, including in cases with near-equal possession (§ 154.123).
